Dr Tochukwu E Anyansi is a medical doctor with specializations in radiology and psychiatry. He trained as a psychiatrist in the Republic of Ireland where he obtained a membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom. He moved to Canada in 2017 and has been treating patients with mood disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic illnesses. He pioneered the IV Ketamine treatment program for depression at the Royal Inland Hospital Kamloops where he was department head of psychiatry from 2021 to 2023. He is the Medical Director for Tertiary Mental Health, Interior Health Authority and works as a psychiatrist at Hillside Center and Royal Inland Hospital Kamloops. He is also currently the principal investigator for a psilocybin study in Kamloops to investigate the efficacy, safety and durability of psilocybin for the treatment resistant depression. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Canada and a clinical instructor at the department of psychiatry, University of British Columbia. He founded sharedcares telehealth to help improve access to psychiatric care for patients struggling with mild to moderate mental disorders.
