Psychiatric consultation
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor trained in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses. Some psychiatrists also offer psychotherapy which involves understanding how the mind works and how it influences behavior and emotions. By having a psychiatric consultation, you can uncover insights into your mental and emotional well-being, leading to improved quality of life. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, a psychiatric assessment will help you understand what you're going through and help you navigate life's challenges and find balance.
Psychiatrist
Our psychiatrist will provide a consultation that will entail an in-depth history, mental state examination, formulation of a diagnosis and a collaborative treatment plan that will be discussed with the patient. After the consultation, a report will be generated and faxed to the referring family doctor or nurse practitioner. Psychiatric consultations may not be repeated within six months unless the referring family doctor needs further clarification of the diagnosis or treatment plan. This is to give other patients on the waitlist a chance to see a psychiatrist before repeat consultation can be offered to the same patient.
